Registration Now Open for the 4th Izena Island "Mecha" Social Gathering Event

First of all, this event is organized by the Izena Island Tourism Association, a general incorporated association, with the support of Izena Village as part of the Izena Island Exchange Promotion Project. With the aim of fostering interaction with the “people” of Izena Island, the event is held in various formats, with different themes and target age groups each time.
The first meeting in 2023 was held under the theme of "Exchange through quiz and marine experience" and the second meeting in 2024 was held under the theme of "Exchange through workplace tour".

Event Details
2026 Theme: “Experiencing Model Tourism Itineraries, Fostering Exchange Among Young People, and Promoting Relocation and Settlement”
■Objective: To foster closer ties among young people on Izena Island and those from off the island, promote Izena Island, and create opportunities for future relocation and settlement.
■ Dates: October 3 (Sat) – October 4 (Sun), Reiwa 8 (1 night, 2 days)
■Accommodations: Guesthouses on Izena Island (Twin rooms for 2 people; if you apply as a single traveler, you will be paired with a person of the same sex)
■Experience: Model Itinerary for Sightseeing Spots on the Island / Includes Marine Activities
■Drinking: Izakaya on the island
■Participation Fee: Free (Limited to 10 invited guests) *You are responsible for your own transportation costs to Unten Port.
■Eligibility: Open to men and women nationwide / People in their 20s to 30s who are active on social media (regardless of number of followers) / People willing to post about Izena Island on social media / People willing to complete a survey / People willing to provide photos and videos from the event and grant permission for their use / Couples, friends, and individuals are all welcome to apply
■ Application Period: August 1, 2026 – August 20, 2026 (If the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, a lottery will be held.)
■ Lottery Results: We will notify you by email by the end of August.

*Please note that if ferry service is canceled on the day of the event due to a typhoon, rough seas, or other similar conditions, the event itself will be canceled or postponed. In such cases, please be aware that you are solely responsible for canceling any airline tickets or accommodations on the main island of Okinawa that you have arranged on your own.

*Please note that this event is designed for people in their 20s and 30s, with the goal of providing a space where participants can freely discuss the values and lifestyles unique to their generation and engage in meaningful interaction. Of course, we also offer separate programs focused on intergenerational exchange.

Notes on the application]
・Please submit one application form per person. (Even for groups, each person must submit their own application.)
On the day of the event, please note that we will meet at the ferry landing at Unten Port in Nakijin Village.
If the number of applicants exceeds the limit during the application period, the secretariat will select applicants by lottery.
The room is a set of accommodations, but it is based on one room for two people.
Children are not allowed to participate in this theme.
