Project to Revive the Phantom Rice Paddy "Gyakuden" - A Journey in the Footsteps of His Majesty King Sho En'o

Sakata," a rice field said to have been cultivated by King Shoen, the first king of the Ryukyu Kingdom, as a young man about 600 years ago. This valuable cultural landscape has been protected for many years, but the Corona disaster interrupted the cultivation of the fields, and now the fields are a wasteland.
In this project, we will work with local residents and off-island volunteers to revitalize the "reverse rice paddies. We will cut weeds, clear waterways, and revive the fields into rice paddies that will once again nurture life.
This is not just farming work, but a "cultural heritage restoration volunteer tour" to "feel the history of Izena Island and the time when King Shoen lived" and to create "a sense of involvement" for the future together.
